Effective 2 October 2026 · Frosch Gallery for Android
In short: Frosch Gallery sends nothing to Brødrene Frosch or to anyone other than Microsoft. Your photos stay in your own OneDrive, and what the app keeps on your phone can be deleted at any time.
Who we are
Frosch Gallery is published by Brødrene Frosch, Denmark. Questions about privacy can be sent to kontakt@broedrenefrosch.dk.
Brødrene Frosch does not receive, store or process any information about you through the app. We run no server that the app talks to, and we cannot see your photos, your account or how you use the app.
Who the app talks to
The app talks only to Microsoft:
- Microsoft sign-in (Microsoft account) to sign you in. This happens in Microsoft's own window; the app never sees your password.
- Microsoft Graph (graph.microsoft.com) to read your photos in OneDrive and, if you turn on camera upload, to add new photos. Thumbnails and photos are delivered from Microsoft's own servers.
Microsoft's handling of your data is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the terms you accepted for your Microsoft account and OneDrive.
The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party crash reporting.
What the app uses
| Information | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address and profile photo from your Microsoft account | To show who is signed in | At Microsoft; only shown in the app |
| Names, dates, sizes, camera, resolution and coordinates of the photos in the folders you choose | To show the timeline, albums, memories, details and search | An index in the phone's cache |
| Thumbnails of your photos | To show the grid quickly | The phone's cache |
| Photos and videos in the phone's camera folder (only with camera upload turned on) | To add them to your OneDrive | Sent only to your own OneDrive |
| Your choices: photo folders, favourites, album order, memories and upload settings | To remember your settings | Only on the phone |
| A log of camera uploads, and a crash log if the app stops unexpectedly | So you can see what was uploaded and what went wrong | Only on the phone |
Place names
Photos from a phone camera often contain coordinates. The app finds the name of the nearest town in a list of cities built into the app (from GeoNames). Coordinates are not sent to any map service. If you tap "Open in map", the coordinates are handed to the map app you choose.
Sharing
When you share a photo, it is downloaded from OneDrive to a temporary folder on your phone and handed to the app you pick in Android's share menu. The temporary folder is cleared before the next share.
Permissions on your phone
- Internet, to talk to Microsoft.
- Photos and videos, and the location in them: only if you turn on camera upload. The app reads only the phone's camera folder and adds copies to OneDrive. It does not change or delete anything on the phone.
The app does not ask for access to the camera, your location, your contacts or "all files". The camera button opens your phone's own camera app.
How to delete your data
- Clear cache in the app's settings deletes the index and thumbnails. Your photos in OneDrive are not touched.
- Sign out removes your account and your choices from the app.
- Uninstall the app to remove everything it has stored on the phone.
- You can revoke the app's access to your OneDrive at account.live.com/consent/Manage.
Photos added to OneDrive are yours and remain there until you delete them in OneDrive.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. It requires a Microsoft account and follows Microsoft's age requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new date is shown at the top. If the app gains features that use information in a new way, they will be described here before the feature is released.
